We are very pleased to announce the appointment of two new GP Partners at The Whipton Surgery.
Dr Susanne King will start in August and Dr Matthew Dennison will start in September 2019.
Many of you will already have met Dr King who has been part of the team for 12 months. She will work on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Dr Dennison will work on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. He has been working as a GP in Devon for the last 2 years.
Dr Harrill and Dr Bunkall will retire at the end of August. Dr Harrill has been at the surgery since 1988, and Dr Bunkall since 1990. Between them, that’s a total of 60 years of care for the people of Whipton.
We know that this will enable the Surgery to continue to provide just the same family practice services with the same ethos of care.
Dr Guy Harrill, Dr Sally Bunkall, Dr Saskia Stanford, Dr Georgina Benzimra, Dr Susanne King, Dr Matthew Dennison.

NHS England requires that the net earnings of Doctors engaged in the practice is publicised, and the required disclosure is shown below. However, it should be noted that the prescribed method for calculating earnings is potentially misleading because it takes no account of how much time Doctors spend working in the Practice and should not be used to form any judgement about GP earnings, nor to make any comparison with any other Practice.
All GP Practices are required to declare the mean earnings (e.g. average pay) for GPs working to deliver NHS services to patients at each Practice.
The average earnings for GPs working at The Whipton Surgery in the last financial year was £31,406 before tax and National Insurance. This is for 4 part-time GPs and 4 locum GP’s who worked in the practice for more than six months.
